Sir Doug Nicholls Round

This weekend our teams will wear the Club’s Indigenous guernsey to commemorate Sir Doug Nicholls Round. Sir Doug was a pioneering Indigenous player and politician. The guernsey was designed by Laura Brown, a proud Muruwari woman from Northern New South Wales. The guernsey design was inspired by the Club’s history and the community. The four circles on the guernsey represent the local schools that have been pivotal in connecting students and families to the Club. The curved design represents Gardiners Creek, an important body of water that was a source of food, medicine and tools for the Wurundjeri People. The dotted stripes represent the people, players and families that have been involved in the Club, and the role they play in connecting community with sport.
