Surrey Park Junior Football Club is the club that Charlie Simms built.
Charlie was heavily involved with the Surrey Hills cricket club and wanted the kids to be able to play their footy locally. A keen sports enthusiast, Charlie re-established the Surrey Hills Junior Football Club in 1993 after a hiatus of more than a decade, initially wearing the Surrey Hills FC jumper (similar to Melbourne Demons ).
The club started with just two teams, an U/10 coached by Guy Arrowsmith and an U/11 coached by Dario D’Alessandro. In 1995 the club adopted the name and colours of Surrey Park FC. Over the years, serving as President, Registrar, League Delegate, Social Organiser and Football Manager, Charlie worked tirelessly to build the thriving club we are proud to play for today.
